The Warren Warrior Marching Band is an award winning ensemble and our most public ensemble. The Warrior Marching Band performs at all school football games, FIESTA events such as Battle of the Bands and Battle of Flowers Day Parade, as well as special performances in Florida with the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom, Disney World. The Warrior Marching Band has earned Sweepstakes ratings at the UIL Region Marching Contest since the school has opened in 2002, and were Area G Finalists in 2014.
Earl Warren High School has three (3) competing concert ensembles. Our concert ensembles have consistently earned Sweepstakes ratings at UIL Concert & Sightreading, with our Varsity Symphonic Band leading the way in doing so since the school has opened in 2002. Placement into these ensembles are by audition only.
The Symphonic Band is the top concert ensemble at Earl Warren High School and is directed by Mr. Christopher Drayton. This ensemble meets during 1st Period.
The Concert I Ensemble meets during 2nd Period and is directed by Ms. Allyn Hartman.
The Concert II Ensemble meets during 3rd Period and is directed by Mr. Juan Solis. This ensemble is usually focused around our younger players, helping them develop basic fundamentals to ensure growth in their instrumental playing abilities.
Students will be provided Formal Concert uniforms and will be held responsible for the care of these items. (Gentleman will need to provide their own black socks and black formal dress shoes. Ladies will need to provide black closed-toe dress shoes. If students choose to wear any jewelry or accessories they must not be obvious to judges. Any necklaces must be simple in design and earrings MUST be studs. Any hair accessories must match hair color.)
Students develop jazz techniques and study jazz literature in the Earl Warren High School Jazz Band. This ensemble consists of saxophones, trumpets, trombones and a rhythm section. Students must be a member of a regular band or orchestra class, except for guitar, bass and keyboard players (if there is not an available band member).
The Earl Warren High School Color guard is open to all Warren HS students. In the fall, this group is the “visual representation” of the marching band. The Winter Guard provides numerous performance opportunities for members through participation in the Texas Winter Guard Circuit and Winter Guard International. Guard students will learn fundamental and performance techniques on flag, rifle, and saber as well as choreography and design.
