ALL students (both new and returning) need to print and fill out the appropriate forms below. Please check back often for important forms/updates.

SUMMER BAND CAMP

Summer Band Camp typically starts at the end of July and is required for ALL participants in marching band. During this camp students meet daily to learn music, drill and choreography for the new school year’s marching program. 

*Please plan carefully around summer band camp and avoid family travel, doctor appointments, etc. during this time.

REQUIRED MATERIALS FOR ALL BAND MEMBERS:

  • Tennis Shoes: Tennis/Athletic shoes are a requirement for ALL members to participate in our rehearsals. Vans, Converse, Canvas shoes like Toms, Sandals, etc. ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. Students must have a well-made athletic shoe with good support.
  • Clothing: All members will be performing excessive movement during all rehearsals and will need to wear appropriate clothing such as t-shirts, athletic shorts/shirts, etc. NO JEANS OR PANTS. We rehearse during the hottest part of the year on a black asphalt parking lot – student health and safety is a top priority.
  • Water Jug: Every ensemble is required to have our purple water jug. They must be present at ALL rehearsals (indoor & outdoor) and must be filled PRIOR to arriving at the rehearsal field.
  • Black 3-Ring Binder with Clear Sheet Protectors: ALL music; warm-ups, show music, etc. must be kept in a black three-ring binder at ALL times as well as any other documents you would need for quick reference. 
  • Pencil: Every ensemble member must have a pencil at all times. Notes should be taken at rehearsals ESPECIALLY when a guest clinician is present – write EVERYTHING down. The more details you documents – the more you will remember. 
  • Flip Folder/Lyre: All members will be required to have their own flip folder and appropriate lyre at every rehearsal. Students will also be held responsible for making sure they have all of the appropriate music in them at all times. See below for instrument-specific specifications.
  • Ball Cap: *Required for outside rehearsals. Your cap should cover your head and must shade your face and your eyes. (Will also be used as a tool for learning drill – we do not suggest white/light colored hats).

WEEKLY REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

Once school starts we will maintain a weekly after-school rehearsal schedule:

  • Monday: 4:45pm – 6:45pm rehearsal
  • Tuesday: 4:45pm – 7:45pm rehearsal
  • WednesdayNO REHEARSAL
  • Thursday: 4:45pm – 6:45pm rehearsal
  • Friday: Football Game

TYPICAL FRIDAY/GAME DAY SCHEDULE

Friday AM / Before School

  • 6:45am – Full Band Call Time for Warm-Up
  • 7:00am – Full Band Rehearal w/ Dance Team & Show Run
  • 8:00am – Band Marches to Gym for Pep Rally
  • (Attend school 9:00am-4:15pm)
Friday PM / After School
  • 4:15pm – Eat Dinner in Cafeteria
  • 4:30pm – Get dressed in Full Uniform
  • 4:50pm – Warm-Up
  • 5:00pm – Band Run Through & Chaperone Meeting
  • 5:30pm – Depart for Stadium
  • 7:30pm – Game Begins
  • 10:30pm Arrive to EWHS from Stadium, bring in instruments, dress out of Uniform, hang and have inspected and turn in Uniform.
  • 10:45pm – Parents pick up students from Band Hall
